Fright Night Phantom 90 OVR: what does it really cost?
The Phantom 90 overall set looks complicated and expensive. Here is the complete two-week breakdown: what you can earn for free, what you still need to craft and how many coins the remaining cards could cost.
After completing the free two-week rewards and Moments, assuming you buy the remaining regular cards at the latest recorded Auction House prices.
First, the Phantom needs 12 MSP sets
You need to complete the 87 OVR Fright Night MSP set 12 times. Each completion needs three 84–85 OVR Fright Night event cards and two Any 84–85 OVR cards.
There is also a separate requirement of 24 Any 84–85 OVR cards (12 × 2). Those are easy to overlook and are included in the total cost below.
210 collectibles across the two weeks
Before spending coins, there are collectibles available through loyalty tokens, Wildcard, objectives and daily packs.
| Source | Per week / source | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Loyalty tokens | One-time reward | 60 |
| Wildcard | 21 × 2 weeks | 42 |
| Objectives | 19 × 2 weeks | 38 |
| Daily packs | 35 × 2 weeks | 70 |
| Total collectibles | 210 | |
At 30 collectibles per eligible Fright Night player, those 210 collectibles provide 7 event players. Completing weekly objectives also provides one event player each week, adding another two.
This assumes the collectible redemption produces an eligible 84–85 OVR Fright Night card at a cost of 30 collectibles, and both weekly rewards qualify for the MSP set.
That leaves 27 Fright Night players to build
Once you use the nine free event players, 27 of the required 36 still need to be made from your collection or acquired from the Auction House.
Each takes three 82–83 OVR Fright Night cards, so you still need to craft 81 Fright Night 82–83 OVR cards.
Each exchange takes three Any 80–81 OVR cards: 243 cards before Moments rewards.
Moments reduce the number of exchanges and regular cards you must purchase.
What Moments actually save you
Two free Fright Night 82s save six 80–81 cards, and four free 80 OVR cards save another four. So the count drops from 243 to 233 regular cards before applying your 10,000 Moments coins.
At the current tracked 80–81 price of 5,000 coins each, that coin reward pays for 2 more cards, leaving 231 cards to buy. In total, you complete 79 new 82 OVR Fright Night exchanges after using the two Moments event players.
Even doing everything free, there is a big bill
Here is the remaining direct-purchase cost, using the latest manually recorded prices from HUT Marketplace. The coin credit from Moments is deducted rather than assuming it always buys exactly two cards.
| Cards or credit | Recorded unit price | Estimated cost |
|---|---|---|
| 233 × 80–81 Any cards before coin credit | 5,000 | 1,165,000 |
| Moments coin credit (two weeks) | — | −10,000 |
| Net 80–81 OVR requirementAbout 231 cards still to purchase | 5,000 | 1,155,000 |
| 24 × Any 84 OVR players | 14,300 | 343,200 |
| Estimated coins still needed | 1,498,200 | |
Using recorded Auction House prices, before comparing cheaper exchange alternatives.
The count of 231 Any 80–81 cards applies when one costs 5,000 coins, because your 10,000 Moments coins buy two. If prices change, the guide adjusts the card count and coin credit accordingly. Any 84 OVR cards are priced at their own latest recorded value.
These are direct Auction House purchase estimates, not a guarantee of the lowest possible crafting cost. Crafting 78–79 and 80–81 upgrade packs may become cheaper if prices move. Use the Set Calculator to check those alternatives.
Is the Phantom worth that grind?
You can reduce the bill significantly by finishing the free activities and using cards you already own, but doing everything available for free does not make this a free 90 OVR player.
- The guide assumes both weeks of Wildcard, objectives, daily packs and Moments are completed.
- All nine free event players must be eligible for the 84–85 Fright Night MSP ingredients.
- All regular 84 OVR cards must qualify for the MSP's 84–85 Any slots; higher eligible overalls may also work.
- Market figures are manually logged snapshots, not live EA Auction House listings. Existing collection cards can lower additional spending.
- The Phantom player's identity remains unknown until EA officially confirms it.
